Who takes their time to come up with these? I totally understand artists that gain some viral fame through email forwards, like the chalk artist, Julian Beever. However, these schmucks who photoshop art on to trucks and so forth to pass them off as real creations bug me. What’s really annoying is that they didn’t even bother to get different images of a semi before plastering their fake art on. Notice in the pictures below that the truck is the exact same truck in front of the same wall with the same tree behind it. Then the email has the audacity to rank them and then curse my grandmother with bulimia (note: my grandmothers have both passed on and neither had an eating disorder) if I don’t forward it to everyone on my contact list. They’re clever, but why don’t they just present them self for what they are? Who are these people?

[…] … and I am that big man. Well, I’m more of a medium man. I was only partially wrong about my Truck Art Bashing. Snopes has informed me that the art was indeed photoshopped, but for a legitimate truck design competition. In the email, it is certainly implied that they are actual trucks, which is what threw me off. So, I was right, I was wrong, whatever. […]

I noticed that you have posted about Julian Beever and his artwork on your blog in the past, and I thought you would be interested in his newest creation.

My agency recently worked with Julian to create the “Fountain of Youth” in Union Square in NYC a few weeks ago. We recorded a video of how he works and posted it on YouTube. You can check it out here:

It’s the first video we’ve seen produced of how he creates his amazing pavement drawings. Check it out, see what you think, and pass it along if you like it.

Let me know if you’d like to know more about the campaign.
